PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of constructing a base-isolated building with high security against falling in an earthquake, etc., while reducing the labor and cost required for its construction. SOLUTION: The foundation structure 1 of the base-isolated building 7 is first constructed and then base isolators 21, 22 are installed in some of the predetermined installation positions of base isolators 21-24 on the foundation structure 1. Next, an underground structure 3 having the load of long-term axial force components to be exerted on the base isolators 21, 22 of the upper structure 6 and including at least a beam 31 located immediately above and interconnecting the base isolators 21, 22 is constructed on the base isolators 21, 22 installed. After the base isolators 23, 24 are installed in the remaining predetermined installation positions, an above-ground structure 5 is constructed to construct the base-isolated building 7.
