PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unsaturated polyester resin composition for electrical and electronic parts which excels in heat dissipation and has high heat conduction, further excels in both moldability and heat resistance, and can be suitably used in the application of encapsulating the electrical and electronic parts such as a motor and coil. SOLUTION: The unsaturated polyester resin composition for electrical and electronic parts comprises 7-15 wt.% novolac type vinyl ester resin, 2-5 wt.% bis-type unsaturated polyester resin, and 65-80 wt.% magnesium oxide. By this composition, the unsaturated polyester resin composition for electrical and electronic parts has good moldability on molding, and the molded article to be obtained has excellent heat conduction and heat resistance, and the resin composition can be suitably used in the application of encapsulating electrical and electronic parts such as a motor and a coil.
