PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic containing a thickening agent and a gel-forming agent having rheological characteristics meeting with the requirements of consumers. SOLUTION: The cosmetic or medicine containing an oxyalkylated polyglycerol ester is expressed by formula (1) (wherein A is a group expressed by the formula C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>or C<SB>3</SB>H<SB>6</SB>; B is H or the formula COR (wherein, at least one of the marks B is a group expressed by the formula COR; R is a 7-21C alkyl; a 7-21C hydroxyalkyl or a 2-21C alkenyl); (n) is a number of 1-30; (x), (y), (z) are each a number of 0-100; and the total of (x), (y), (z) is 50-250).
