PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device and a sheet feeding mechanism using a paper sheet cartridge capable of restricting properly the sheet feeding attitude including the sheet feeding direction using a spring, eliminating deformation of each sheet caused by the energizing force of the spring, and preventing the transporting force required after feeding the sheet from enlarging. SOLUTION: Immediately before starting the feed of any sheet, a slide plate 117 is moved to the left by a driving mechanism such as a motor and its drive part 117c pushes the arm 123a of a lever 123, which rotates counterclockwise against the spring 126. This causes its coupling part 123b to intrude down the interlocking part 3d of a single side moving plate 3, and that portion of the plate 3 located on the right of the a shaft 3 rotates clockwise against the force whereby the set spring part 3a is energized counterclockwise, and accordingly the single side moving part 3c also rotates clockwise. As a result, the single side moving part 3c can energize the printing sheet 2 and push it to the reference surface 1d of a case 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
