PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a masking tape with good follow-up properties and an excellent hand tearing property and a masker using the same. SOLUTION: The masking tape is composed of a polyester nonwoven fabric substrate of which the mean flexural rigidity toward the front and back sides in the fiber flow direction, measured by a KES (Kawabata Evaluation System), is 0.03 gf cm<SP>2</SP>/cm-0.6 gf cm<SP>2</SP>/cm and that in a direction rectangular to the fiber flow direction is 0.01 gf cm<SP>2</SP>/cm-0.4 gf cm<SP>2</SP>/cm and which contains at least two kinds of polyester fibers, one kind of them being base fibers and the other, binder fibers.
