<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide whether recording is possible or not based on the power consumption required for recording and the residual capacity of a power supply. <P>SOLUTION: The recorder comprises a section (215) for setting the attributes of a recording medium, sections (209, 218) for setting a maximum electric energy being used for recording on the recording medium, sections (216, 217) for detecting the residual capacity of a mounting power supply, a section (209) for deciding whether recording on the recording medium is possible or not based on the residual capacity of the power supply and the maximum electric energy, and a section (208) for informing the decision results. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
