<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install driver software from a desktop computer and to constitute a network device. <P>SOLUTION: A user transmits an electronic mail to a remote device such as a printer. The printer automatically returns response mails to the users when it acquires access to electronic mail addresses of one or more end users. When the end user receives an installation package from the printer, the end user is guided through an installation process by clicking installation software having a default which is preset.
