<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which unifies a reference position of an output image even when image information with different input reference positions are printed. <P>SOLUTION: The image information is stored in a storing portion 1e of the image forming apparatus 1. The stored image information includes actual image data, an article size at reading, an image size / position corresponding to an article, an article set-up direction, and article layout information including a read reference position. An output layout deciding portion 1h decides the output layout of the image corresponding to an established output reference position or a read reference position at a printing portion 1g, basad on image layout information by the control of a control portion 1a.
