<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing a porphyran of a high purity from algal bodies of the genus Porphyra, in a high yield, for a short time and by a simple operation. <P>SOLUTION: The preparation process comprises the steps of adding a hydrous ethyl alcohol to a dried matter of algal bodies of the genus Porphyra and wash-treating;adding water to the residual solid content and boiling by heat; thereafter filtering; concentrating the filtrate; adding to the concentrated liquid an alkali metal salt or an alkaline earth metal salt of hydrochloric aid or lactic acid; then fractional precipitating by using ethyl alcohol; collecting the precipitates in fractions up to an alcoholic concentration of 50 % (v/v); and washing and drying. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
