PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video transmission system and method capable of increasing the number of programs with a smaller investment in equipment. SOLUTION: Various digital video data are composited through a digital data compositing device 1 and a carrier carrying the composite data is modulated through a modulator 2. The modulated carrier and other carriers modulated similarly are composited through a carrier compositing unit 3 and then delivered to an existing CATV network via a head end 4 of an existing analog CATV system.
