<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new biologically active recombinant BPI (rBPI) protein, a protein fragment product inhibiting formation of a dimer and a cysteine adduct and providing a product very useful for pharmaceutical usage, a new DNA sequence encoding the rBPI product and analogues, a plasmid vector including the DNA, a host cell stably transformed or transmuted by the plasmid, a method of recombinant preparation, a stable medicinal composition, and a method of treatment. <P>SOLUTION: A DNA encoding a biologically active fragment of a protein having a leucine residue at the 193rd position as a carboxy terminal residue and an improved sterilization property and permeability is obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
