<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder having improved feeding performance by surely separating and feeding sheets even if the sheets are thick with high rigidity. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet feeder comprises a movable sheet tray part 10 having a sheet loading surface for loading the sheets, an attraction belt unit 1 for generating electrical charge on the sheets and successively attracting, separating and conveying the sheets by applying voltage and making the sheet to contact a dielectric belt 5. The sheet feeder is characterized in making the top sheet of the bundle of sheets loaded on the sheet loading surface to contact the dielectric belt 5 for a predetermined period of time, then lowering the sheet loading surface in the direction away from the dielectric belt 5, thereby separating the top sheet from the bundle of sheets. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
