SALT ELECTROLYTIC CELL PROVIDED WITH GAS DIFFUSION CATHODE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic cell in which the pressure loss of a gas stream in a gas chamber is reduced without damaging the mass transfer efficiency of oxygen absorbed into a gas diffusion cathode. SOLUTION: A cathode gas chamber 6 of an electrolytic cell 1 provided with a gas diffusion cathode 3 is set with a wire net 11 in which an aperture in a longitudinal direction is≥3 mm and the distance between the gas diffusion cathode and the back plate 10 of the gas chamber is 0.5 to 3 mm. Salt electrolysis is performed using the electrolytic cell satisfying the above conditions, so that the pressure loss of a gas stream in the gas chamber can be reduced without damaging the mass transfer efficiency of oxygen.
