PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sound synthesizing method/device for clarifying a search unit when a voice database is searched and improving processing speed of voice synthesizing, and to provide a program. SOLUTION: The voice synthesizing device 1 which voice-synthesizes an inputted sentence by using a voice database 13 storing utterance time of a phoneme and a word is provided with a word division phoneme meter addition part 5 dividing the inputted sentence into the words and adding phoneme meter information to the divided words, a database search part 7 searching a word division candidate whose linkage cost showing how smoothly voice data is connected and phoneme meter cost become minimum from the word division candidates as a voice data string, and an output part 11 outputting the searched voice data string as synthesized voice output.
