PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sustained driving device and method of a plasma display panel to reduce power consumption and to stabilize a driving waveform. SOLUTION: The sustained driving device of the plasma display panel is provided with: a voltage source having a 1/2 of voltage required for the sustained drive of the plasma display panel; and an energy recovery circuit which is connected between the voltage source and the panel to constitute an LC resonance circuit by switching, recovers the power of the panel, and supplies the sustained driving voltage to the panel.
