PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup lens device provided with a zoom lens system high in performance, small in size and high in variable power. SOLUTION: The zoom lens system constituting the image pickup lens device is composed of a 1st group (Gr1) of positive power, a 2nd group (Gr2) of negative power, a 3rd group (Gr3) of the negative power, and the succeeding group (GrB) in the order from an object side. The succeeding group (GrB) is provided with a 5th group (Gr5) as a negative lens group and is provided with a 4th group (Gr4) on the most object side and a 6th group (Gr6) on the most image side as a positive lens group. The feature of zoom movement is that at least the interval of the 2nd group (Gr2) and the 3rd group (Gr3) is changed and the negative lens group in the succeeding group (GrB) is moved at the time of varying power.
