PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe fixing roller of simple constitution such that a mandrel member and a release layer base, a resistance heating body, and an electric insulating layer do not mutually move, namely, the electric insulating layer and resistance heating body are not ruptured, and there is not a resulting current leak, as to a fixing roller of a printer which has a mandrel member inside and also has a release layer base body etc., with a resistance heating body and an electric insulating layer sandwiched. SOLUTION: The fixing roller of the printer constituted by fixing the mandrel member 1 and the release layer base body 2, provided at the outer circumference of the mandrel member 1 with the resistance heating body 5 interposed, across a resin-made cap member 3 is characterized in that an end surface 3a of the cap member 3 which abuts against an end surface 1a of the mandrel member 1 is roughened.
