PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus having a display device capable of attaining various expressions by effectively using CG-RAM areas. SOLUTION: The electronic apparatus comprises: a character display means for displaying characters on the basis of character codes and further displaying a fixed font pattern in which a character format is previously determined and a variable font pattern in which the character format can be optionally changed; and a font pattern rewriting means for rewriting the contents of the variable font pattern in accordance with the state of the electronic apparatus.
