PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely retrieve identification information of an image recording material supplied enclosed in a wrapping bag and to appropriately record the image by selecting a desired image recording medium in accordance with the identification information. SOLUTION: After a wrapper 12 is loaded into an image recording device 10, a bar code pasted onto a wrapper 12 is read with the use of an inside bar code reader arranged inside the image recording device 10 to retrieve the identification information, and it is determined whether a reading error is present or not. When the reading error is determined to be present, identification information is retrieved from a bar code label 19 pasted onto a flap 18a exposed outside the image recording device 10 with the use of an outside bar code reader 46 and recorded.
