PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of removing stains and bleaching of marine product ornaments for achieving an excellent photocatalyst effect, preventing generation of working flaws (such as white rough skin and spots on the surface), smoothly removing stains and bleaching in a short period of time, and improving the whiteness of the bleaching by effectively utilizing a particle of metals as the photocatalyst and irradiating strong light beams of at least 25,000 lux, taking it into consideration that the stains or yellow pigment included in ornaments of such marine products as pearls, shells or coral include a slight amount of metals such as Fe and Cu by nature. SOLUTION: The method of removing stains and bleaching of the marine product ornament 1 involves removing stains and bleaching of the marine product ornament 1 by storing the marine product ornament 1 in a translucent container 2, and is characterized by the irradiation of the light beams 8 so that the illuminance on the outer surface 2a of the container 2 is at least 25,000 lux.
