<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure simply and effectively the protection of user information concerning a user utilizing a digital composite machine. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided a storage means for storing a public key of a user in a non-volatile storage medium and for storing a private key of the user in a volatile storage medium, and a means for encrypting and decoding user information. There are further provided a means for storing user information not encrypted with the encrypting/decoding means in the volatile storage medium or a means for storing encrypted user information obtained in the encrypting/decoding means in the non-volatile storage medium, and a reading means for reading the user information stored in the storage medium from the volatile storage means as it is or a reading means for decoding, after the user information is read out of the non-volatile storage medium, by the encrypting/decoding means based on the private key. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
