<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a toner is prevented from leaking by detecting a toner conveyance pipe being clogged. <P>SOLUTION: In a typical embodiment, the image forming apparatus has an image carrier, a developing means of developing an image on the image carrier with a toner, a cleaning means of collecting the toner on the image carrier, a toner collection container which stores the collected toner, and the conveyance pipe which conveys the toner from the cleaning means to the toner collection container; and powder sensors which detect the amounts of passing toners are provided right after the cleaning means being the entrance part of the conveyance pipe and right before the toner collection container being the exit part of the conveyance pipe respectively and specified processing is carried out according to the difference between output signals of the powder sensors at the entrance part and exit part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
