PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To image a subject along with the background with proper brightness in a dark site, without fixing an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: An exposure time Tb which is effective to prevent camera shaking/blur of object in motion, a time Tg from setting of an AGC gain until its reflection, and a maximum irradiation time Tf of strobe light are read (S101). If half-shutter operation is made, a slow synchronous exposure time Ta is calculated (S103), for calculating an exposure halfway change gain value Y (dB)(S104). When a shutter key is pressed fully, exposure is started (S106), and strobe emission is performed at a time Tf (S107). When the time Tf elapses after the exposure is started (S109;YES), the gain value of a gain adjusting amplifier (AGC) is changed to the exposure halfway change gain value Y (dB)(S110).
