PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fire caused by fire used for Buddhist altar fittings during a Buddhist ceremony, for example, in the matting for detecting the occurrence of the fire and a fire alarm using the matting. SOLUTION: The fire detection matting adopts a configuration including a base 14 formed by compressing papers, a top surface 12 formed by knitting rushes therein for covering the surface of the base, and a sensor 18 located between the top surface 12 and the base 14 to be operated by heat generated by the fire.
