PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of surely outputting an index signal to a succeeding display means even when a video signal to be displayed on the display device is changed. SOLUTION: When a local video signal S107 is inputted to a local-only input part 102 and an index video signal S108 is inputted to an index-only input part 103, a display video selection part 104 transmits the local video signal S107 e.g. to a video display part 106 as a selected signal S110 on the basis of a control signal S109 from a control part 105. Consequently the video display part 106 displays the local video signal S107. The index-only input part 103 transmits the index video signal S108 to the succeeding display device as an output signal S111 independently of the video signal displayed on the video display part 106. Thereby only the index video signal can be outputted to the succeeding display device independently of the display video displayed on the display device 101. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
