<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which appropriately controls the temperatures of a heat roller and a pressure roller even when the number of prints and printing intervals are random to thereby prevent overheat during and after the passage of sheets. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a heat fixing system 10 which has the heat roller 10a, the pressure roller 10b, and a fixing heater 14 disposed in the heat roller 10a, and which melts a toner image on a transfer sheet while sandwiching and conveying the transfer sheet with an image formed thereon, by a nip formed by causing both the rollers 10a and 10b to come in pressurized contact with each other. The image forming apparatus also has a counting means which counts the number of consecutively passed sheets for each printing job, and a control means 19 which varies control temperatures stepwise according to the count value of the consecutively passed sheets. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
