摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device whose visual field angle is extremely wide and which is entirely free of gradation inversion and is capable of making multi-level display and has a high aperture ratio.

SOLUTION: This device is a liquid crystal display device having matrix-form pixel electrode 2 groups formed in such a manner that the electric fields impressed to a liquid crystal layer are nearly parallel with substrate surfaces, active elements and prescribed driving means and is so constituted that an initial alignment direction 6 of liquid crystals is determined as one direction and that one pixel has plural driving directions for the liquid crystals therein.
