<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machining head and laser beam machining facilities that can make the facilities inexpensive, safe and with good view even if an articulated robot is employed in the facilities. <P>SOLUTION: On the side of a laser beam machining head 10, there are installed a bracket 21, an arm 22 and a link 23 in a mutually engaged manner. In the normal state, the bracket 21 is pressed downward in the Figure by means of a spring 24, with the link 23 pressed clockwise. Consequently, a laser beam 11 is shielded with a laser shielding plate 32. In the machining state, the bracket 21 is pressed upward in the Figure by a workpiece 5, with the link 23 moved counterclockwise. As a result, with no shielding by the laser shielding plate 32, the workpiece 5 is irradiated by the laser beam 11. Among the laser control regions, only the area that can be irradiated by the laser beam in the machining state is shielded with a metallic shielding plate while other areas are shielded with a translucent simplified shielding plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
