PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HAA having a limiter mechanism effective to the HAA of a novel structure, and a disk apparatus provided with the HAA. SOLUTION: The HAA includes: a head slider having at least one head element; an arm member supporting the head slider at its one end; an actuator fixed to the other end of the arm member to turn the arm member around a horizontal drive shaft placed in the middle of the arm member in a direction nearly in parallel with the surface of a recording medium; a weight providing means for energizing the head slider in a direction of the surface of the recording medium around a vertical drive shaft to turn the arm member in a direction nearly perpendicular to the surface of the recording medium; and a limiter means for restricting the arm member from being turned by a prescribed limit or over in a direction of parting from the surface of the recording medium around the vertical drive shaft.
