PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of requiring a lot of manhours and the high cost for coloring to a roller bearing for identifying its specifications by hardening, tempering, finishing, and heat-treating it at a prescribed temperature lower than the tempering temperature in a specification identification providing means for the roller bearing. SOLUTION: An outer ring or an inner ring of this roller bearing is hardened, finished, and tempered in this order and, at least, either of the outer ring or the inner ring is colored into a plurality of colors by adjusting the tempering conditions. This method allows, for example, to color a second color different from the first color of the inner ring on the outer ring, to color the second color different from the first color of the inner ring on the outer ring, to color the first color on the both, or to color the second color on the both, so on. The selection and combination of the color can clearly provide the bearing with the identification showing that the specifications are different.
