PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a connecting rod for an internal combustion engine capable of being improved for the strength of an I section part stably and the connecting rod for the internal combustion engine applying the manufacturing method without lowering the fatigue strength by preventing buckling or teardown in strengthening method of the connecting rod using the strain ageing. SOLUTION: A part or whole of a I section of a connecting rod blank body forged to such a profile, where the ratio a/b of a dimension a in the thrust-antithrust direction and a dimension b in the front-rear direction in the section is 1 to 3, the radius curvature of a rib front end is 0.5 to 4.0 mm, and the inclinationθfor the front-rear direction is 5°to 45°in profile, is cold-worked such as coining.
