PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder in which drive power of a motor is saved by suppressing it when the frequency of use is low and the load is not increasing, and when the temperature of working environment is high. SOLUTION: This recorder comprises a CPU (central processing unit), a ROM, a RAM, a means for counting the number of passing sheets, a means for storing the count of the number of passing sheets, a current variation rate table for the count of the number of passing sheets, and a means for setting the motor current level wherein the drive current of the motor is varied depending on the count of the number of passing sheets.
