The hard foam sealing material as a flood barrier, of polyurethane (PUR), is a closed-cell hard foam with a bulk density of at least 100 kg/m3> and a pressure resistance of at least 1.10 mn/m2>. The foam structure gives an impermeability to water of at least 95%. The sealing material is inserted vertically through the center of the dike (a), with a length extending to the dike base and anchored in a concrete pedestal (b). The sealing projects over the top of the dike (3g), to block any overflow, supported by a metal framework (3) as L-shaped profiles or tubular profiles.
