<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique by which a nucleic acid contained in a biological sample is easily extracted without requiring a conventional complex operation in a method for extracting the nucleic acid, and to provide a reagent therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The method for extracting the nucleic acid from the biological sample containing the nucleic acid comprises a step of heat-treating an alkalinized sample obtained by mixing the biological sample with an alkalinization agent, and a step of clarifying the alkalinized sample after the heat treatment by acidifying the sample. The reagent for extracting the nucleic acid comprises the alkalinization agent containing an alkali metal hydroxide as a component, and an acidification agent comprising an inorganic acid as a component used in the extraction of the nucleic acid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
