<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a coating thickness from differing depending on a region on the peripheral length of a cell with a hexagonal cross section. <P>SOLUTION: A corrugated foil 13 has 1/2 hexagons 11 continuously formed at an equal interval and a metallic catalyst made of palladium and rhodium deposited on the corrugated foil 13. The 1/2 hexagons 11 are arranged opposite to each other at a position where a hexagonal opening part is formed and honeycomb-shaped as a whole. This honeycomb-shaped body is housed in a sleeve with the help of a guide.
