<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly slide a keyboard cover without making the keyboard cover interfere with a rack member. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with the keyboard cover 10 covering an upper part of a keyboard part 7 between sideboards 5 of an instrument main body 1 and that of an operation part 8 at a rear upper side of the keyboard part 7. A guide member 14 guiding a roller 13 disposed in the keyboard cover 10 is arranged on an inner face of the sideboard 5. A rack member 12 which rolls by engagement with a pinion 11 fitted to a rear part of the keyboard cover 10 is buried inside the sideboard 5. When the keyboard cover 10 slides, the roller 13 is guided by the guide member 14 and the pinion 11 is engaged with the rack member so as to roll. Thus, the keyboard cover 10 smoothly slides and especially the rack member 12 is buried in the sideboard 5. Then, the rack member 12 is prevented from being positioned below a sliding track of the keyboard cover 10, and the keyboard cover 10 does not interfere with the rack member 12.
