PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide an accurate capacity adjustment condition for adjusting capacity of a battery pack and sufficiently equalizing capacity of respective cells. SOLUTION: A charge capacity SOC of each cell in the battery pack, in which a plurality of cells are connected in series, is detected and its mean value is found. Only when the mean value of the charge capacity SOC is within a range giving an inclination ¾▵Vo/▵SOC¾ between the cell charge capacity SOC and an open circuit voltage Vo characteristic, the capacity adjustment condition of the each cell in the battery pack is decided.
