PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the effect of a head onto an adjacent track without the need for the head to trace an extreme narrow track width even under high track density while reducing the frequency of a head waiting for data recording. SOLUTION: The method includes: a step S38 of measuring a fringe amount (Delta-BER) of the head to determine a positioning limit value at data recording with the head on the basis of the measurement result; a step S40 of creating a table on which determined positioning limit values are registered; and a step S45 of storing the table so as to be usable in a control state of positioning the head to a target track for recording of data onto the target track.
