PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vane pump capable of preventing the generation of impact even when a shaft is deflected by the application of radial tension and the like, and a rotor is slid to a side plate thereby. SOLUTION: In this vane pump wherein a chamber formed between vanes 6 is communicated to a discharge hole 14 through a pressure introduction groove 15, before it is directly communicated to the discharge hole 14 in accordance with the rotation of the rotor 4, a diameter D2 of a side face 16 kept into contact with the side plate 12 of the rotor 4 is smaller than an outer diameter D1 of the rotor 4, and the pressure introduction groove 15 is located at an outer side with respect to a position opposite to a side face of the slid rotor 4, in a state that the rotor 4 is slid to the side plate 12 in accordance with the distortion of the shaft, when the radial eccentric load is input to the shaft.
