PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, usable as an automobile in substitution, capable of transporting occupants and cargoes and applicable with a sense of automobile. SOLUTION: The vertical takeoff and landing aircraft 10 for flying with the occupants getting thereon comprises a barrel part 12 formed to be almost the same in size as the automobile as a whole and having a cabin 11 large enough for the occupants to get therein, propulsion unit parts 13, 14 for propelling a body 18, a drive unit part 15 for driving the propulsion unit parts 13, 14, and main wings 16, 16 formed to be foldable.
