PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery frame drive unit for multi-head embroidery machine capable of simultaneously stably controlling a number of linear motors by use of one driver and one linear scale. SOLUTION: In this embroidery frame drive unit for multi-head type embroidery machine, an X-axial drive part or Y-axial drive part and a drive control part have a linear motor part in which a plurality of linear motors are connected in the outside; a controller for outputting a drive signal of linear motor; the driver for supplying drive current to a prescribed linear motor in the linear motor part by the drive signal of linear motor outputted from the controller to simultaneously drive the plurality of linear motors; and the linear scale for feeding back an output signal according to the operation of the linear motors to the driver in order to control the operation of the linear motors operated by the driver.
