PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet stool seat lid-opening/closing unit, improved in operational feeling in manually opening the toilet stool seat lid in simple and inexpensive constitution. SOLUTION: In this toilet stool seat lid-opening/closing unit 10, when the toilet stool seat lid 6 left open is turned in the closing direction by normal rotation of a stepping motor, a fan gear 50 connected to a motor and a connecting wheel 40 connected to a rotating shaft 20 to the toilet stool seat lid 6 are structually connected to each other through a switching mechanism 80. Accordingly, the seat lid 6 is turned in the closing direction by the drive of the motor. After the seat lid 6 is turned to a rotatable tilting starting position by its dead load, the structural connection between the fan gear 50 and the rotating shaft 20 is released in the switching mechanism 80, so that the connecting wheel 40 is interlocked with the rotation by the dead load of the seat lid 6 the fan gear 50 independently of the fan gear 50, and the fan gear 50 can be returned to the initial position when the seat lid 60 is put in the fully opening position independently of the connecting wheel 40 by the reverse rotation of the motor.
