A medical image diagnostic apparatus for capturing a scanogram of a subject and capturing a tomogram under an imaging condition preset by using the scanogram. An imaging condition setting window (33) independent of a scanogram (31) is provided on a monitor (14). A number indicating the order of imaging is entered in a number entering box (40) of the imaging condition setting window (33) is entered so as to specify a desired imaging for which a set imaging condition is set. A pointer is placed on a frame (41), a mark (42), or a dotted line (43) and dragged so as to set an imaging condition indicating the number of images specified, the number of reconstructed images, the position of imaging, and the position of image reconstruction. The frame (32A) and line (32B) indicating the number of images, the number of reconstructed images, the position of imaging, and the position of image reconstruction on the scanogram (31) reflects the setting on the imaging condition setting window (33). Thus, the frame and line indicating the condition of the desired imaging displayed over the scanogram can be quickly and accurately operated.
