<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recycling a magnesium alloy by which, on the regeneration of the waste material of a magnesium alloy with calcium or rare earth elements added, regeneration cost is suppressed while attaining the improvement of an operational environment, and the quality of a regenerated lump can be increased to the one equal to that of a new lump. <P>SOLUTION: The waste material of a magnesium alloy with calcium or rare earth elements added is dissolved. The molten metal is stirred and refined using a stirrer provided with blow-off holes for gas while allowing inert gas to flow from the blow-off holes. By the stirring and refining, oxide and impurities in the molten metal of the magnesium alloy floated up on the surface of the molten metal are removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
