<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field emission type cold-cathode element excellent in uniformity of field emission, having high field emission efficiency and easy to highly integrate. <P>SOLUTION: When a field emission element using a fibrous substance such as a carbon nanotube is screen-printed, a screen mask in accordance with a pixel pitch is used. In screen printing, it is screen-printed by accurately matching a mesh position to the field emission element position.
