PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer optical waveguide having a smooth core end face and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the polymer optical waveguide having a smooth core end face, the surface roughness Ra of the core end face is 0.01-0.06μm and the intermediate position of the core of the polymer optical waveguide is notched by dicing.
