摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gettering technology for effectively removing contaminants from a solid-state imaging device picture element region. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging system is equipped with a plurality of unit picture elements that generate signal charges in compliance with incident light. In this system, a gettering region is formed within the unit picture element region. The capability of this gettering region for gettering the element picture region is remarkably enhanced because it is quite near the unit picture elements. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
