PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel of an active matrix drive system by TFT drive with periphery circuits such as a precharge circuit, a sampling circuit and an inspection circuit disposed with satisfactory space efficiency to enlarge an effective display area. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal device 200 is equipped with a liquid crystal layer 50 held by a pair of substrates, a pixel electrode 11 provided on the substrate in a matrix shape, and the TFT 30 for performing switching control for it. The precharge circuit 201 supplying the precharge signals prior to the pixel signals to a plurality of data lines 35 has a precharge signal line 204.
