PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which does not need complex manufacturing processes, but utilizes inexpensive image display particles. SOLUTION: This is an image display device for displaying images by enclosing one or more kinds of particles between a transparent substrate and a counter substrate and moving the particles flying by applying an electric field from two kinds of electrodes at different potentials, wherein the resin component of the particles is a polymer of at least one kind selected from acrylic monomers, methacrylic monomers, and styrene type monomers, at least one kind of raw material of the particles contains an acrylic resin and a block copolymer of methacryl resin and hydrocarbon resin, and diacyl-peroxide is used as a polymerization initiator, to obtain the picture display particles, and the picture display device using the particles is provided.
