PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element module whose assembling man-hours are drastically reduced and which stably realizes high coupling efficiency, and to provide a new optical waveguide element used for the optical element module. SOLUTION: The optical element module for taking emitted light from a light emitting element into an optical transmission path through an exit-side optical fiber is constituted by including the light emitting element, the optical waveguide element coupled with the light emitting element, and the exit-side optical fiber coupled with the optical waveguide element. The optical waveguide element includes an optical waveguide fiber and a GI fiber, and a projecting curved surface is formed at the incident-side edge of the optical waveguide fiber, and the incident surface of the GI fiber is bonded to the emitting end face of the optical waveguide fiber, and the GI fiber for collimating is bonded to the incident-side edge of the exit-side optical fiber.
